Atlanta Restaurant Opening News - Chicken Salad Chick, the nation’s only fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, brings fresh flavors to Covington, GA this November as part of the company’s continued growth across its home state. Located at 4153 Hwy 278 NE in the Covington Plaza Shopping Center the Covington restaurant will officially open its doors on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. District Manager AJ Jajjo, General Manager Michael Sherman and the Covington team will award the first 100 guests who purchase a meal free chicken salad for a year.

Covington operating hours are Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Guests can enjoy signature chicken salad, fresh side salads, gourmet soups and an expanded dessert menu, now featuring decadent cakes and a variety of sweet treats.

Flip Burger's New Menu

Flip Burger unveiled its new menu created by Chef Christian Norton this week, showcasing several exciting new burgers and dishes including a Kobe Burger topped with an egg, Caprese Burger, Pork Belly Burger, Butterfish sandwich, Vietnamese Chicken Wings, and Pork Belly served with Brussels Sprouts Kimchi. 

Everything was delicious! The cocktails are also excellent and feature dry ice. Flip Burger is famous for their thick milkshakes, too. We saw a S'mores Milkshake with marshmallows which were toasted with a blowtorch. Flip Burger remains on the cutting edge of burger cuisine, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

I tried a new BBQ joint today with my family called Righteous Que. I came away impressed with this small restaurant in suburban Atlanta.

What did you order? How was your food?

We ordered Brisket and Greens. Brisket comes lean or fatty. We chose lean. We also had a kids' meal Hot Dog with a side of Mac & Cheese. Drinks were canned Coca-Cola and Lemonade. The food was well-seasoned and flavorful. The Mac & Cheese was outstanding. Brisket comes in large slabs of meat which was a nice touch.

Describe your impressions of the service. Was anything exceptionally good (or bad) about the quality of service you received? 

Three very affable and knowledgeable young men staffed the restaurant. They told me the establishment has been there three years.

What do you think of the décor and atmosphere? 

Modern casual, very simple. Perfect atmosphere for a small BBQ joint.


Do you consider this a good value for the money you spent? If no, why not? 

Yes, reasonable prices and plenty of food for the money.

This restaurant is best for... 

Casual lunches and dining, family meals, take-out.

My foodie friend Alma and I tried Jinya with her friend Flor the other day. Alma covered the bill. I'll have to treat her next time. Here is my review!

What did you order? How was your food?

I ordered Chicken Won Ton Ramen, and Alma ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen. I got a Pork Chashu Bowl on the side, and Alma got Pork Gyoza. We both had side salads. Flor had a Pork Chashu Bowl. We got Green Tea Mochi for dessert.

I have never tried a "real" ramen bowl before. I've only had Maruchan or Nissin in the past. I remember loving my chicken ramen cup at the ice skating rink when I was a skater. Ramen is delicious - salty and savory, especially when you are cold. Jinya Ramen was a delightful new experience for me. The broth was flavorful, the noodles cooked perfectly, and the wontons delicious. The scallions and spices were just right. We all adored the pork chashu, gyoza, and the dessert mochi!

Describe your impressions of the service. Was anything exceptionally good (or bad) about the quality of service you received? 

Young, super-friendly, helpful and professional waiters.

What do you think of the décor and atmosphere? 

Modern, causal, simple and beautiful like Japanese style. The restaurant was very busy. There was a line, but we were helped promptly and seated. We sat outside, and it was windy and chilly, but the ramen warmed us up.


Do you consider this a good value for the money you spent? If no, why not? 

I don't know, ask my friend Alma! She paid. I'm just kidding, it is very reasonable for such tasty food.

New Atlanta Restaurant - Farm to Ladle

A new location of Farm to Ladle restaurant just opened in Avalon. Farm to Ladle is a café selling soups, salads, sandwiches and locally sourced produce & herbs. 

Owner and Atlantan Geoff Melkonian created the super popular Bread Winner in Sandy Springs, then opened his newest concept Farm to Ladle in Ponce City last year and, just last month, opened Farm to Ladle in Avalon.

Farm to Ladle Avalon is offering ½ off wine and beer throughout the month of August.

Tiff's Treats - Alpharetta Grand Opening  Sat. June 11th
The Alpharetta grand opening is planned for Saturday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3665 Old Milton Parkway and will feature a special offer on all of their irresistible cookies: $1 per dozen on all of their favorite flavors including chocolate chip, snickerdoodle and oatmeal raisin.*
